Weekly hospital update
The hospital received 247 animals last week, bringing the total for this year to 3283.

Many of the animals brought to the hospital on the weekend during the hot spell suffered from dehydration and hyperthermia in addition to whatever problem initiated the rescue. If you find an animal that needs help, it's important to keep it out of the sun and bring it to the hospital as quickly as possible. At home, keep bird baths clean and full to give the resident animals fresh water. It's especially important during the hottest days of summer.
