Diablo Country ClubAbout the course
In 1914, the 18-hole "Diablo" course was designed by Jack Neville who also designed Pebble Beach. Just prior to World War I, Robert Burgess converted the farm into Mt. Diablo Country Club as an incentive for people to buy lots for summer homes. In April 1948 Mt. Diablo Country Club was purchased, renovated and opened the following September under its new name Diablo Country Club. The Diablo Country Club facility in Diablo, California features 6,640 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course has a rating of 72.1 and has a slope rating of 130 on Bermuda grass. A USGA official, who recently played Diablo, called it a “best kept secret in the country”. The course will give all players a perfect blend of challenges and dramatic views. Golf Digest rated many features of the Diablo Country Club as “a top ten California golf course.”
